Job summary

AESG is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead site-based commissioning activities across Building Services projects. You will independently inspect sites, review design info, ensure adherence to codes, and report findings to the project team.

The role demands technical authority, leadership, and ongoing mentorship of colleagues in a dynamic Middle East/Global context. Applicants should have a strong MEP background with an engineering degree and extensive experience.

Qualifications

• MEP / Building Services Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 8–12 years of job-related experience depending on qualification.
• Chartered Engineer, desirable but not essential.
• Incorporated Engineer, desirable but not essential.
• CSA Grade 5 qualified, desirable but not essential.
• Certified Commissioning Authority with BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct site inspections in selected discipline
• Review design information, tolerances and agreed methods of working
• Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and codes
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and codes
• Report issues to senior team members in a clear, concise manner
• Liaise with contractors commissioning team professionally
• Carry out site observations with respect to installation quality
• Produce documentation to a high standard, including Site Observation Reports
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools per guidelines
• Participate in meetings and workshops as required
• Provide technical leadership within the project team and division
• Support, mentor, and train colleagues
• Track task completion, prepare lookaheads and trackers for milestones
• Maintain daily diary of events and activities on site
• Assist with commissioning design reviews and produce high-quality documentation with recommendations

JOB PURPOSE

Senior Commissioning Engineer is a senior role within the commissioning project team, the person undertaking this role is a technical authority in chosen discipline and a leader within the team. They are self-motivated, support the project manager with delivery of project scope and provide training and coaching to the team.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree

• MEP / Building Services Engineering College Diploma

• HNC, HND or equivalent

MEP / Building Services Engineering College Certificate

• ONC, OND or equivalent

• MEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds Certificate

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of job-related experience + Engineering Degree

• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience + College Diploma

• Minimum 12 years of job-related experience + College or Trade Certificate
