Job summary

Frasers Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer for Fraser Suites Riyadh to ensure all hotel facilities, guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house systems are maintained to a high standard. Arabic fluency and prior hotel maintenance management experience are required.

You will lead the maintenance team, manage preventive maintenance, oversee external providers, and ensure compliance with CARE program and statutory regulations.

Qualifications

• Arabic language is a mandatory requirement.
• 5-star hotel maintenance operations experience is advantageous.
• Experience working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and with local regulations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage preventive maintenance schedules for hotel assets.

We are looking for a Chief Engineer to join Fraser Suites Riyadh and ensure all hotel accommodation, public areas, back of house and building operating systems are presented and maintained to a high standard and that appropriate preventive detection systems are in place in accordance with Frasers Hospitality's CARE program and all statutory requirements.

What you'll be doing as a Chief Engineer:

• Implement and manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules for all Fraser Suites Riyadh plant, equipment and operating assets to ensure efficient and continuous operation. Areas covered to include all guest apartments and access corridors, Fraser Suites lobby, Porte Cohere, business centre, back of house offices, leisure facilities, F&B outlet, meeting rooms, plant rooms, Fraser Suites store rooms and car parks.
• Maintain and manage all operating manuals, service and product warranties, supplier details and product specifications in hard and sort copy.
• Manage external service providers in accordance with agreed performance and servicing requirements.
• Manage the procurement of services by outsourced providers using tender specifications in an agreed format in consultation with the General Manager and Finance Manager.
• Manage the reporting and rectification of building, plant and equipment defects in consultation with the project manager, during the 12-month defect liability period.
• Obtain and keep on file all building licenses and certification documentation provided at practical completion.
• Maintain a complete copy of "as built" drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic and essential services plans for ongoing reference.
• Manage all relationships with external agencies including planning authorities, government departments and TECOM.
• Manage operating supplies and assets inventories in accordance with company guidelines.
• Manage and direct the activities of the maintenance team to ensure building presentation, maintenance of facilities and all functional aspects of the property are operating in accordance with agreed guidelines and standards.
• Implement a system of routine inspections of building plant and equipment, public areas, external areas of the building and guest apartments to proactively address repairs and maintenance requirements in accordance with Frasers Hospitality CARE program.
• Oversee maintenance staff rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet the operation requirements and in accordance with the labour budget.
• Prepare management reports.
• Ensure maintenance and fault reporting systems are in place to respond to all guest and staff reported maintenance issues.

What we're looking for:

• The ability to speak Arabic is a mandatory requirement.
• Previous management experience as a Chief Engineer within a 5-star hotel maintenance operations department is advantageous.
• Previous work experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Strong knowledge of hotel engineering operations, MEP systems, and preventive maintenance.
• Solid expertise in Fire, Life & Safety (FLS) systems and Saudi Civil Defense regulations.
• Experience managing statutory compliance, government inspections, safety audits, and engineering projects.
• Excellent leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.Recognised trade qualifications in either electrical or hydraulic disciplines.
• Current diver's license and machine operator's licence.
• Competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point), hotel property management system (OPERA preferable) and work order software applications.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Strong organisational and work coordinating skills to handle multiple assignments and projects simultaneously.
• Ability to problem solve and formulate technically sound corrective actions.
• An eye for detail and a focus on quality standards.
