Overview
Summary: The Engineering Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing the hotel’s physical infrastructure and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for guests and employees. Reporting to the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering, the Hotel Engineer supports the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department and assists in various projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and other areas to upkeep the functioning of the hotel.
- Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and to the satisfaction of guests.
- Conduct routine inspection of the property and completing the check lists.
- Assist in implementing and carrying out preventive maintenance programs for all hotel systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facilities to identify maintenance needs and opportunities for improvement.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing malfunctions and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs with external contractors or vendors when required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to building codes.
- Participate in fire safety drills and emergency response procedures, contributing to the overall safety of guests and staff.
- Assist in capital improvement projects, renovations, and equipment upgrades as directed by the Chief Engineer or management team.
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and other departments to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and ensure cost-effective procurement practices.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Prepare reports on work performed, equipment status, and maintenance schedules as required.
- Responsible for overall day to day operation.
- Inspects that working condition of the engineering systems and ensure that all standards are maintained.
- Flags any major problem or emergencies such as emergencies, accidents and so on to the Assistant Director of Engineering / Director of Engineering.
- Participates in energy conservation programs and cost-effective maintenance works.
- Assists the Assistant Director of Engineering/Director of Engineering in educating and training all Engineering employees in work safety standards, engineering standards, and provides technical information as required.
- Promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with team.
- Monitors and ensures that guest complaints are attended as per standard time to make sure the guests are satisfied.
- Supervises preventive maintenance and repairs conducted in the property.
- Prioritizes engineering service requests to ensure guest convenience and satisfaction.
- Ensures that engineering and work areas are in order and clean condition.
- Regularly examines, tests, and maintains life safety systems to protect guests, employees, and assets.
- Reports any incident of guest dissatisfactions or unusual matters of significance to management so that corrective measures may be taken.

Background
- Engineering / Maintenance qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a shift engineer in a similar type of hotel / establishment.
- Language requirement: English (Basic / conversational / professional / native)
- Eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia
