The CAD Operator will provide the detailed digital documentation that enables engineers, architects, and project teams to communicate design intent clearly and accurately. The role requires disciplined control of drawings, revisions, file structures, and technical standards across multiple concurrent project activities. Accuracy is particularly important because CAD information may be used for construction, coordination, fabrication, or downstream engineering decisions. The operator will therefore review dimensions, symbols, annotations, and model content carefully before drawings are issued. The position also supports continuous improvement in digital production. By maintaining templates, applying consistent standards, troubleshooting software issues, and refining drawing workflows, the CAD Operator will contribute to faster and more reliable project delivery.
Candidates should demonstrate strong professional experience in CAD operation, drafting, digital modeling, or technical drawing production within construction, engineering, architecture, or manufacturing environments. Up to 10 years of professional CAD operation experience is preferred by the source requirements. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Experience with Revit, SolidWorks, or similar industry-standard CAD and modeling platforms will provide additional value. Candidates should be comfortable producing and modifying both 2D drawings and 3D models while maintaining accurate dimensions, annotations, symbols, and technical references. A strong understanding of technical drawing conventions, drafting protocols, and industry standards is required. The successful candidate should also be able to interpret architectural and engineering specifications without introducing inconsistencies into project documentation. Exceptional attention to detail is important because the role involves identifying errors within complex drawing packages and ensuring that revisions are incorporated correctly. Strong organization and time management are required for handling multiple project assignments, drawing revisions, and submission deadlines simultaneously. Experience with project management tools and digital documentation platforms is preferred. Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, project managers, and other multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Riyadh's expanding construction and infrastructure market continues to create strong demand for experienced CAD professionals who can support increasingly digital and multidisciplinary project workflows. This position provides broad exposure to architectural, engineering, construction, and technical documentation processes while strengthening practical capability across both 2D drafting and 3D modeling. Working within AECOM's multidisciplinary environment can also provide a pathway toward senior CAD, BIM modeling, digital delivery, design coordination, or technical documentation roles as project complexity and digital engineering requirements continue to grow.
