Job summary

Hotel Infante Sagres, operating La Compagnie Porto, is seeking a Sommelier/Assistant Sommelier in Porto to guide guests through wine selections and pairings. You will help curate a wine list with a strong emphasis on Portuguese labels while supporting stock management and training across the team.

The role requires knowledge of Portuguese and international wines, fluency in English and Portuguese, and the ability to coordinate wine experiences, tastings and dinners in a fast-paced hospitality

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sommelier or Assistant Sommelier.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese and international wines.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.
• Ability to train and lead team members.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Advise guests on wine selection and pairing.
• Assist in developing a balanced wine list with focus on Portuguese wines.
• Support wine purchasing and supplier relationships.
• Manage cellar stock, storage, and inventories.
• Deliver engaging wine experiences, tastings, and events.
• Assist the Sommelier Manager and deputize when needed.
