Responsibilities

Job description

I am supporting a leading international IPP in the search for a Senior Project Developer to join its growing team in Portugal.

The company has an established presence across Europe, with a strong portfolio of operational assets and an expanding pipeline of solar PV, wind, BESS and hybrid projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing international business, combining an entrepreneurial environment with the backing of an established renewable energy group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead environmental permitting strategies for utility-scale solar, wind, BESS and hybrid projects.
• Manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Scoping Procedures (PDA).
• Coordinate external environmental and engineering consultants throughout the permitting process.
• Support electrical licensing, grid connection and municipal planning activities.
• Conduct environmental and land-use assessments to identify development constraints and opportunities.
• Work alongside GIS and Land specialists to identify suitable sites through spatial analysis.
• Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities, municipalities and other key stakeholders.
• Support the wider Business Development team with project feasibility, market analysis and risk assessments.

About You:

• 4-8 years of experience in environmental permitting and renewable energy project development in Portugal.
• Proven experience developing greenfield renewable energy projects from initial land identification through to RTB.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese environmental legislation and permitting procedures.
• Experience across utility-scale solar, wind and/or BESS projects (experience in Wind would be considered a plus)
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
