Job summary

Brightsmith is seeking a Senior Project Developer for Portugal to lead environmental permitting for utility-scale solar, wind, BESS and hybrid projects. You will coordinate EIA work, engage consultants, and support licensing, grid connections and planning.

Qualifications

4-8 years of experience in environmental permitting and renewable energy project development in Portugal.
Strong knowledge of Portuguese environmental legislation and permitting procedures.
Experience across utility-scale solar, wind and/or BESS projects; wind experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead environmental permitting strategies for utility-scale solar, wind, BESS and hybrid projects.
Manage EIA and PDA procedures.
Coordinate external environmental and engineering consultants through permitting.
Support licensing, grid connection and municipal planning activities.
Conduct environmental and land-use assessments to identify constraints and opportunities.
Work with GIS and Land specialists to identify suitable sites via spatial analysis.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, municipalities and stakeholders.
Support Business Development with project feasibility, market analysis and risk assessments.
