Job summary

Worldwide Recruitment Energy is seeking a Senior Implementation Project Manager to lead a large-scale hybrid renewable energy project in Portugal, spanning wind, solar PV and BESS, from contracting through construction to final handover.

You will manage EPC/TSA/BOS contracts, coordinate with procurement, monitor CAPEX, develop schedules in MS Project or Primavera P6, and report risks to senior management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in construction.
• Strong track record in end-to-end management of large energy infrastructure.
• Solid experience in renewable energy, wind and/or solar PV.
• Knowledge of EPC, TSA, BOS/BOP, OEM contracts and Owner’s Engineer structures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; PMP/Contract Management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project execution from tendering through PAC and handover.
• Define tender packages, specs, and scopes for EPC, TSA, BOS/BOP, OEM and OE contracts.
• Oversee contract administration, change orders, claims, penalties, and EOTs.
• Develop integrated master schedule using MS Project or Primavera P6 and align milestones.
• Monitor CAPEX, cash flow, expenditure forecasts, and contingencies.
• Manage on-site construction activities and QA/QHSE compliance.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders including TSOs, lenders and contractors.
• Report monthly risk and progress to senior management.

At Worldwide Recruitment Energy, we are looking for a Senior Implementation Project Manager to join an international company in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio of projects under development and construction across Portugal. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the implementation of a large-scale hybrid renewable energy project, combining wind power, solar PV, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), overseeing the entire process from contracting through construction, execution, and final handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end project execution, from transition approval (pre-implementation/tendering phase) through Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) and handover to Asset Management.
• Manage the large-scale hybrid renewable energy project in Sabugal (~400 MW), combining Wind, Solar PV, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Define tender packages, technical specifications, and scopes of work for EPC, TSA, BOS/BOP, OEM, and Owner's Engineer contracts, in coordination with the Procurement team.
• Oversee day-to-day contract administration, including execution monitoring, change orders, claims management, penalties, and extensions of time.
• Develop and maintain the integrated master project schedule using MS Project or Primavera P6, aligning contractual milestones with payment schedules.
• Monitor and control the CAPEX budget, cash flow, monthly expenditure forecasts, and project contingencies.
• Identify, assess, and manage technical, commercial, regulatory, and execution risks, maintaining a risk register and presenting monthly reports to senior management.
• Supervise on-site construction activities, manage the Site Manager, coordinate inspections, and ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors, Transmission and Distribution System Operators (TSO/DSO), consultants, financial institutions, and Lenders' Technical Advisors (LTA).
• 10+ years of proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in construction and project execution, with a strong track record in the end-to-end management of large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
• Solid experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably in large-scale Wind and/or Solar PV projects.
• Strong technical and contractual background, with extensive knowledge of EPC, TSA, BOS/BOP, OEM contracts, and Owner’s Engineer structures.
• Proven ability to manage complex, large-scale energy projects, including hybrid renewable energy developments combining Wind, Solar PV, and BESS (~400 MW) in Sabugal/Guarda.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in PMP or Contract Management will be considered an advantage.
