Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Portugal is seeking a Senior Product & Test Engineer for our Research and Development team. You will help shape the future of technology by merging creativity with technical expertise in new product introduction and production engineering.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust product performance, high yield, and cost improvements, apply data-driven methods (SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma), and analyze product and test data to drive engineering

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific or technical field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Product and Test Engineering.
• Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
• Experience with data-driven engineering and statistical analysis.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry would be an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI and production engineering with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, quality, yield, and cost improvements.
• Manage new product introduction and provide production support engineering for assigned products.
• Investigate and resolve yield, stability, and quality issues with Design, Process, Test, Reliability and Manufacturing teams.
• Drive process improvements to increase manufacturing yield, improve process stability and production costs.
• Apply SPC, FMEA, Advanced Process Control, 8D and Six Sigma methods.
• Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, risks and drive corrective actions.
• Develop data-driven, robust manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Senior Product & Test Engineer, you will play a key role in new product introduction (NPI) and production engineering, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust product performance, high manufacturing quality, and continuous improvement of yield and cost.
• Manage new product introduction and provide production support engineering for assigned products
• Investigate and solve product and production issues related to yield, stability and quality in collaboration with Design, Process, Test, Reliability and Manufacturing Engineering teams
• Drive process improvements to increase manufacturing yield, improve process stability and production costs
• Apply structured problem-solving and engineering methodologies such as Statistical Process Control, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Advanced Process Control, 8D and Six Sigma
• Analyze product and test data to identify trends, root cause, risks, improvement opportunities, and apply findings into effective engineering actions
• Contribute to robust and sustainable manufacturing solutions by applying a systematic, data-driven approach to technical challenges

Qualifications and skills

• Degree in a scientific or technical field, such as Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Product and Test Engineering or a similar field
• Strong analytical and data analysis skills, with the ability to structure complex technical problems, identify root causes, and derive effective solutions
• Experience with data-driven engineering and statistical analysis, ideally applied to product, test, or manufacturing data
• Experience in the semiconductor industry would be an advantage
• Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken
