We're seeking a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Advisor to join our busy Land & Planning team in Hamilton on a 12-month Fixed Term basis. If you have a strong background in stakeholder engagement, especially in establishing and managing relationships with iwi and mana whenua, then read on!
This role ensures that well-managed external relationships contribute to the safe and legally compliant operation of high-pressure pipelines and infrastructure, along with the protection and exercising of legal rights. You should be safety and relationship focused, comfortable engaging with a range of people including the Firstgas team, landowners/occupiers, contractors, iwi, and local government, with the goal of delivering exceptional relationship management.
The successful candidate will work closely with teams across the business to provide stakeholder engagement, consultation, negotiation, coordination, safety awareness, and support and education services. Additionally, you will coach and mentor others within the team and wider business to develop skills in stakeholder engagement.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to maintain, develop, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, particularly iwi and kaitiaki of the whenua and waterways where our assets are located. You will need at least 5 years of proven experience in this space.
You must also have a full driver’s license, self-management skills, and a commitment to safety. Proficiency in MS applications such as Word, Excel, and Teams is required.
