Join our Book Shop Sales Coordinator Team!

Our book shop in Papaioea | Palmerston North, REaD Books, is looking for a Sales Coordinator. This is a great opportunity for someone who is great with numbers, organised and loves books!

We need volunteers to support us Tuesday - Friday 10am - 4pm morning and afternoon shifts.

Saturday 10am - 1pm

Role Description

In this role, you will take responsibility for sales management in one of our Red Cross Book Shops. This includes ensuring that the shop runs smoothly, all sales processes are followed, and that there is sufficient resourcing for shop sales.

This role will ensure that all volunteers are kept informed of activities and procedures and will work closely with our book shop team.

In this role you will be ensuring Volunteers are informed of the correct procedures and following these procedures.

We're looking for someone who can attend monthly meetings with our local Branch.

Regular half-day shifts: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am-1pm; 1pm-4pm; Saturday 10am-1pm.

Your tasks

• Management of in-store book shop sales (EFTPOS, opening and closing registers)
• Overseeing online sales (TradeMe, Fishpond)
• Supporting a team of volunteers.

Volunteer requirements and training

This role requires someone who:

• has sales experience
• has good communication and problem-solving skills
• enjoys working with a group of dedicated volunteers; and
• loves books.

Guidance, training and support will be provided by our Red Cross team.

• Follow all instructions given to you about health, safety and wellbeing
