A local mentorship program in Tauranga is seeking mentors to support rangatahi in their personal growth journeys. Mentors will participate in activities, create a caring environment, and assist in a 4-day wilderness camp. Requirements include a full drivers licence and a police check. This role is an excellent opportunity for positive community members looking to make a difference.
Overview
Lead by expert facilitators and outdoor instructors, you will participate in activities alongside the rangatahi, acting as a positive role model and helping to create a safe and caring environment for participants.
We know this will be a memorable and impactful journey for the young people and the mentors alike.
This programme runs in Term 2 and Term 3. Mentors will need to be available for training for one evening at the start, then the 7-week programme (held on a Sunday each week) and the 3-night adventure camp at the end.
Petrol vouchers will be provided to assist with transport costs
As the safety and happiness of our rangatahi is paramount to our success, all men will go through our selection process. We want to ensure that you are right for Big Buddy and we are the right organisation for you. We aren’t looking for superheroes, we are simply looking for good guys from our community who care. The selection process includes police vetting, reference checks and an interview.
