Salary will be in the range of $90,125 to $107,452 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

You’re a dedicated Clinical Psychologist and academic with a PhD (or equivalent) in Psychology, registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board. You bring a strong background in clinical practice—working confidently with clients across diverse settings and you have the ability to inspire students through engaging lectures and seminars.

You have a growing (or established) track record in research, with publications and conference presentations that showcase your expertise. You’re skilled in supervising Honours, Masters, and PhD students, and you’re committed to preparing the next generation of professionals for practice, including guiding interns in clinical settings.

You’re collaborative, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to manage your time effectively and contribute meaningfully to the School’s teaching, research, and administration. You value inclusivity, demonstrate cultural competence, and understand the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in academic work. Whether you’re early in your academic career or already established, you’re motivated to grow your profile and make a positive impact—within the University, the discipline, and the wider community.

Te Wānanga o Ngā Kete, the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology, and Social Sciences (ALPSS) is a large and dynamic Division that includes Te Kura Toi the School of Arts, Te Kura Aronui the School of Social Sciences, and Te Kura Whatu Oho Mauri the School Psychology, and Te Piringa the Faculty of Law. The Division also has two research institutes: Te Ngira the Institute for Population Research (IPR) and Te Puna Haumaru the New Zealand Institute for Security and Crime Science (NZISCS).
