As a Manager I supporting Molding & Tooling Engineering, the incumbent is responsible for leadership on technical support, system and machine reliability, consistency and continuous improvement of mold base, carrier and molding production equipment. He or she will initiate, support and come up with an idea how to improve defects in respective department at Johor, Malaysia. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Ensure Molding production equipment and machinery in the plant achieves minimum machine downtime and obtains minimum NCR.
- Provide engineering support to Production, Engineering and QC in terms of process improvement, repairs, troubleshooting of automation and control system, calibration and process validation.
- Carry out the change request and evaluate the change effects on validated process.
- Participate in cost reduction, cost saving, Mold base set-up and repair, carrier setup and carrier spare parts. Improve efficiency of mold base and carrier maintenance time.
- Investigate the process and quality failure resulted from equipment/process related problem and provide permanent solution to fix them.
- Improve the quality defects, safety remediation and machine performance with CAPA, Kaizen or Fix One Thing approach.
- Lead and encourage all associates involved in Kaizen and Fix One Thing initiative.
- Provide coaching and training to technicians on the carrier service and repair activities.
- Motivate and cultivate a positive mindset and ethics among EQE associates and optimize individual performance to the company.
- Outsource and evaluate new technology innovations which lead to increased machines efficiency and product quality.
- Design and write engineering study protocols and execute the protocols which include data collection, analysis and provide recommendations if further improvement is required.
- Design and write URS and FDS technical documents for molding production equipment.
- Assess machine designs from vendors in terms of safety design, application design, mechanical and control system design.
- Ensure all maintenance SOPs and documentation are compliant with OSHA, ISO 13485, GxP and US regulations.
- Ensure updated release documents are changed, reviewed and approved before implementation of validation and it must remain and operate in validated state.
- Ensure all the maintenance records are properly managed.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Minimum 5 years of experience for Degree holders.
- Must have experience in mold base troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience dealing with plastic injection molding machines.
