Job summary
A leading engineering firm located in Klang City is seeking a skilled operator to maintain and operate laser cutting and bending machines. Qualified candidates should have at least two years of experience in sheet metal fabrication and be proficient in reading technical drawings. The role requires a strong attention to detail as well as the ability to work independently under minimal supervision. - Ability to work in shop conditions with moderate noise levels.
- Physically capable of handling metal dust exposure.

- Operate and maintain laser cutting, turret punching, and bending machines in accordance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders to determine job specifications and requirements.
- Set up machines with the necessary tools, materials, and settings for production runs.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure precision and quality, making adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and report any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by management.
- Track and report production metrics such as cycle time, downtime, and machine efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent quality and minimize rework or scrap.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing machine performance and reducing waste.
- Ensure workstations and the shop floor are kept clean and organized.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the work environment.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the superior from time to time.
- Minimum SPM or equivalent education.
- At least two years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related field.
- Proficiency in operating machines such as laser cutters, turret punches, and bending machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good problem‑solving skills and ability to make quick adjustments.
- Physically capable of handling shop conditions, including moderate noise levels and exposure to metal dust particles.
