Provide theoretical and practical involving Diploma in Pharmacy (DP) subjects while managing the academic service in an efficient manner through contemporary teaching approach to ensure the achievement of the predetermined academic policy.
Responsibilities
- Promote and represent the program both internally and externally.
- Taking care of matters related to pharmacy laboratory used by the program.
- Ensure the program is carried out to the highest possible standards and adhere to the evaluation and monitoring procedures set in place.
- Develop and sustain appropriate structures for management, consultation, decision-making and communication with lecturers and students.
- Comply with auditing, quality assurance and risk management procedure both internally and externally.
- Continuous review and update (only if necessary) of the program’s curriculum.
- Consistent interaction with external examiner regarding program matters.
- Conduct programme meeting on a monthly or semester basis.
- Keep up-to-date with developments from KKM, MQA, and KPT especially on issues relating with program.
- To formulate, control, and monitor fiscal budget for the programme including advising payments to KKM.
- To work closely with the Clinical Posting Unit on obtaining approval letters from hospitals, JKNS, and KKM for clinical posting placement.
- To source part‑time clinical instructors, local preceptors, part‑time pharmacy lecturers through networking.
- To look for new industrial partners and maintain a close relationship with all industrial partners.
- Able to act as the resource person for lecturers and students.
- Constant monitoring of the academic performance of students.
- Ensure that all lecturers complete marking of assessment on time.
- Ensure that all student attendance (for all lecturers within the program) are updated on a daily/weekly basis.
- Ensures that exam papers are prepared, moderated and submitted to exam unit on time and are of good quality.
- Supervision and grading of clinical posting students.
- To prepare and submit required reports to HOD in a timely manner.
- Be a member of curriculum development committee Teaching.
- Adequate teaching workload (9 to 12 credit hours per semester).
- Maintain score of at least 80.0% for student evaluation.
- Preparation and delivery of lecture.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure productive and effective communication and liaison with students, lecturers and superiors.
- Ensure teachings comply with predetermined objectives.
- Ensure that all test papers are of good quality and meet with the curriculum and objectives of the course.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (HONS)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in Diploma and Degree programmes
- Good command in English
- Excellent presentation skills
- Positive attitude towards work and people
