Job summary

A manufacturing company located in Port Klang is seeking a skilled Production Manager to lead the production team and ensure targets are met. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and people-management skills, with a focus on safety and quality. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred for coordination with the China HQ. The position requires at least 3-5 years of experience in production management within the manufacturing field, specifically in coating or paper core processes. This role also emphasizes continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Leads the production team to meet company production targets and execute daily/weekly production plans to ensure production output meets required targets.
2. Coordinate manpower, materials, machine loading, stock forecast readiness, order forecast preparation and etc.
3. Fully responsible of workers safety and promote a zero-accident culture.
4. Ensure product quality meets standards and respond to quality issues as well as implement improvement plans.
5. Conduct training, coaching, and performance management to maintain discipline & stability.
6. Control material wastage and production costs and support root-cause investigation and problem resolution.
7. Improve productivity and support continuous improvement.
8. Implement and sustain 6S management standards.
9. Work with Quality, Engineering, Safety, HR, and Logistics teams.
10. Other ad-hoc tasks when assigned.

Job Requirements

1. Strong leadership and people-management skills with knowledge of production processes and equipment operation.
2. Strong safety and quality awareness. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
3. Proficiency in Mandarin preferred as role requires regular communication and coordination with China HQ teams.
4. Willing to work overtime when required to support production planning and meet forecast targets.
5. Work on improving line efficiency or production flow.
6. At least 3-5 years of experience in production management, preferred manufacturing field. Coating / paper core experience is an advantage.
7. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the production workshop.
8. Able to work in our office in Pulau Indah, Port Klang.
