Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform initiatives at the Vertex Center of Excellence. You will collaborate with Tax Engineering, TAP, and Tax Product to translate business requirements into configured tax capabilities and ensure end-to-end delivery for new verticals, merchants, and products.

You will oversee testing, data lineage, and production readiness, while developing an offshore team and aligning tax data flows with downstream reporting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax, Canada GST/HST/PST, and ANZ GST.
• Experience implementing Vertex O Series or similar tax engines.
• Ability to translate business/tax requirements into functional specs.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.
• Familiar with data flows from transaction systems to reporting.
• Project management including charters, plans, and RAID logs.
• Proficient with productivity tools and AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects including new verticals and product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders; translate to functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs/PRDs/TDDs for tax implications and provide tax expertise to engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validation across testing phases.
• Trace tax data from upstream systems through Vertex to reporting and flag gaps.
• Ensure production readiness and document post-launch learnings.
• Bridge non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Lead and develop offshore team with QA checkpoints and knowledge transfer.
