Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead tax platform and business projects, focusing on new verticals, merchants, and product launches. You will translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements and collaborate with Tax Engineering to deliver live capabilities.

In this role, you will oversee testing, trace tax data through the Vertex engine, and ensure readiness for production releases.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience.
• Experience with US sales and use tax, Canada GST/HST/PST, Australia/New Zealand GST.
• Experience configuring Vertex O Series or similar tax engine.
• Ability to translate business and tax requirements into functional system requirements.
• Direct engagement with engineering teams on product development.
• Experience with project management artifacts (charter, plans, RAID, timelines).
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Experience using AI tools regularly to enhance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax platform and business projects including new verticals and product launches.
• Gather requirements from TAP, Tax Product, and stakeholders and translate to functional requirements for Vertex CoE.
• Review BRDs, PRDs and TDDs for tax-system implications and provide functional tax expertise.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validation across unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch phases.
• Trace tax data from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting and flag gaps.
• Validate readiness for production releases and document post-launch lessons learned.
• Serve as a bridge between non-tax tech stakeholders and tax technology teams.
• Lead and develop offshore team with workload allocation and QA checkpoints.
