Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Bilingual Medical Virtual Assistant to support an Internal Medicine practice. The role requires strong English and Spanish communication skills, especially over the phone, to coordinate appointments and manage follow-ups with patients.

This remote, part-time position offers 40 hours per week at $6.50 per hour with a six-month performance review. Ideal candidates are organized, dependable, and able to handle scheduling, insurance tasks, and HIPAA-compliant

Qualifications

• Excellent bilingual English/Spanish communication.
• Experience handling phone calls in patient-facing roles.
• Strong appointment coordination and follow-up skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and provide updates clearly.
• Stable internet and home office setup for remote work.
• HIPAA knowledge or HIPAA-compliant workflows.

Responsibilities

• Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls with patients, pharmacies, payer offices, and other healthcare contacts.
• Communicate clearly in English and Spanish on calls and messages.
• Provide appointment reminders, follow-ups, rescheduling support, and patient assistance.
• Answer routine patient questions and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Maintain a calm, patient-friendly tone with elderly or complex cases.
• Manage scheduling via phone, email, and text; keep calendars accurate.
• Confirm appointments, cancellations, reschedules, and waitlist coordination.
• Document demographics, notes, and call outcomes in the system.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits; document results in EMR.
• Process referrals and prior authorizations; track status.
• Coordinate with payer/provider offices and internal teams to avoid delays.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and proactive follow-ups.
