Join to apply for the Sales Manager B2B Food Industry role at Wikifarmer

Created by Petros and Ilias in 2017, Wikifarmer is a global platform with the mission of empowering farmers by educating them and offering them access to the open market to sell their products at fair prices.

In a nutshell 🥜

As we continue expanding our purchasing model, Italy stands out as a core market, home to some of Europe’s most innovative and quality-driven food production units.

We are now looking for a Sales Manager to take full ownership of developing our commercial presence in Italy, with a strong initial focus on selling edible oils, while also uncovering broader opportunities across the food industrial sector.

This role is a unique opportunity to develop a new strategic geography for Wikifarmer. You will shape our commercial approach, build long-term relationships with procurement and technical teams, and influence how we expand our product offering. From prospecting and negotiations to understanding market needs and shaping customer insights, you’ll drive the full commercial cycle and play a pivotal role in our expansion.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Identify, prospect, and acquire new food manufacturing clients across Italy, with a strong focus on edible oils and other raw materials
  • Manage and expand existing accounts, ensuring excellent service and repeat business
  • Conduct on-site factory visits to understand technical needs and production requirements
  • Prepare commercial offers, negotiate contracts, and maintain accurate CRM records
  • Gather and share insights on pricing dynamics, customer needs, and market opportunities
  • Collaborate with quality teams to ensure product compliance with factory protocols and certification
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with procurement, quality, and R&D stakeholders
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and seamless order fulfilment
  • Contribute to identifying new raw materials or product categories that align with customer demand.
  • Represent Wikifarmer at industry events, trade fairs, and relevant networking opportunities
What you'll need to bring
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience within the food industry or raw materials sector, with a solid track record of selling into food production units
  • A proven track record selling to food manufacturers, ideally with exposure to bulk commodities such as edible oils
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new industrial clients, managing key accounts, and consistently achieving sales targets
  • Strong understanding of the Italian food manufacturing ecosystem, including how procurement teams operate and how decisions are made
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a consultative sales approach
  • High autonomy, self-motivation, and discipline in managing a large territory independently
  • Proficient in CRM tools and structured in managing pipelines and customer data
  • Located in continental Italy, comfortable with regular travel across Italy and holding a valid driving licence
  • Fluency in Italian and English at a business level
  • Experience managing container-scale transactions (IBCs, flexitanks, or other bulk delivery formats)
  • Knowledge of olive oil quality parameters, organoleptic characteristics, and industrial specifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
  • A technical background or hands-on experience in food production environments
What we can offer:
  • A competitive fixed salary based on experience plus a generous uncapped commission scheme
  • 24 days annual leave plus public and national holidays
  • Private medical insurance for you and your immediate family
  • Unlimited access to Coursera for learning and development
  • A flat structure and collaborative team that values initiative, innovation, and ownership
