A leading automotive parts manufacturer in Tuscany is seeking a skilled technician to analyze and repair injection machines and other automated equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience with PLCs, and knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance and ensuring products meet specifications. This role requires physical capability to work in various positions and environments.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY

Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair injection machines, peripheral equipment, automated assembly machines, and the physical plant facility.

TYPICAL DUTIES

Ensure that products meet customer specifications through electrical and mechanical skills, including hydraulic and pneumatic processes. Work with tools from prints, schematics, manuals, and computer programs. Operate robotic processes and equipment such as end-of-arm tooling, assembly fixtures, and PLC programming. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and safety checks on production equipment. Address unsafe or non-compliant issues promptly. Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures as required.

SPECIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) with a calculator.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and associated electronic technology.
  • Ability to use computer programs for troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection processes.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic equipment, pumps, and valves.
  • Ability to set up, install, repair, and maintain specialized automation equipment.
  • Experience with high (480 VAC 3-phase) and low voltage (120 VAC single-phase and 24 VDC) equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Sound judgment in planning work sequences.
  • Other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT UTILIZED

  • Computer programs for troubleshooting.
  • Voltage Ohm Meter (VOM).
  • Basic machine shop equipment (vertical knee mill, lathe, band saw).
  • MIG welding equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work in various positions for extended periods, including standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking. Work at heights up to 30 feet. Must have good vision (corrected), hearing, and hand-eye coordination. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds solo and 75 pounds with assistance. Typically work indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
