A leading life sciences laboratory in Rome is seeking a Junior Building Maintenance Officer to ensure the continuity of scientific activities. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance and planning of facilities. Proficiency in Italian and a good command of English are required, along with relevant educational qualifications. EMBL is Europe’s flagship life sciences laboratory, an intergovernmental organisation with more than 110 independent research groups and service teams. EMBL shares the Monterotondo Campus with the Italian National Research Council (CNR) Institute for Biochemistry and Cell Biology (IBBC). The CNR-managed refurbishment of the main EMBL building on the Monterotondo campus is nearing completion. This role sits within EMBL Facility Management to support the refurbished building of the EMBL Epigenetics and Neurobiology Unit in Monterotondo (near Rome, Italy).
The Junior Building Maintenance Officer will join a small on-site team and work to ensure continuity of the Laboratory’s scientific activities during this development period. The successful candidate will support planning and maintenance activities and will be provided with learning and experience opportunities to build a platform for their future career.
