A private yacht recruiter seeks a Deckhand/Engineer for a 55m M/Y in the Mediterranean. The ideal candidate has at least one year of superyacht experience, strong exterior maintenance skills, and a keen interest in engineering. Required qualifications include a fully updated STCW and Seafarer's Medical Certificate. Deckhand/Engineer opportunity aboard Private 55m M/Y

Start date: January 5th, 2026

Package: Competitive salary paid in Euros with 60 days leave

Itinerary: Mediterranean cruising

We are looking for a Deckhand/Engineer to join this dynamic deck and engineering team. Summer cruising will be in the Med, followed by a large refit period next winter – so an amazing opportunity for one who is truly looking to work on their engineering skillset!

Experience / Skills required

• Minimum 1 year Deckhand experience on superyachts with a strong interest in engineering


• Exterior maintenance knowledge of painting, varnishing, stripping, waxing and products


• Experience in tender driving and towing for water sports is preferable


• Possessing a strong interest and knowledge of “hands on” engineering


• Professional appearance


• Excellent English language skills both written and oral

Qualifications required

• STCW (fully updated) with PSA/PDSD


• Seafarer's Medical Certificate (with 6 months' validity)


• Power Boat Level 2 as a minimum


• AEC or an engineering trade would be a plus
