This Position reports to: Marketing & Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As Business Development & Sales Manager , you will play a key role in building market knowledge and strong business relationships with utilities, Independent Power Producers and investors in the renewable energy sector.

You will also have the opportunity to develop an effective business sales strategy within the local market scope and maintain it, to improve ABB\'s market penetration and realize growth aspirations.

Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Accountable responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing a business development strategy for Photovoltaic (PV), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and lifetime extension solutions.
  • Identifying new opportunities and projects and building partnerships to enable successful product sales.
  • Mapping the installed base, engaging customers and stakeholders who influence O\&M decisions.
  • Driving consultative sales and positioning ABB\'s value proposition for advanced service offerings.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with utilities, IPPs, investors, and C-level stakeholders.
  • Participating in key contract negotiations and ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive engagement.
  • Leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance.
  • Collaborating with backend teams and subject matter experts to support technical discussions and solution design.
Qualifications for the role
  • 5-10 years of experience in consultative sales, preferably with utilities, IPPs, or energy project developers.
  • Proven track record in business development for renewable energy solutions (PV, BESS, or related technologies).
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business.
  • Strong ability to communicate and negotiate
  • Fluency in English and Italian; Spanish is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Italy
