Overview

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated AUTOMATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Naples or Genoa - Italy.

Responsibilities

• Support the proper requirements management for all the phases of the software lifecycle.
• Contribute to the design and the implementation of a complete solution ( Modules, documentation and tools ).
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Contribute to the correct operation of the software on the applicable platforms.
• Provide proper level of support to other functional units (RAMS, Verification, Test & Commissioning, etc.).
• Apply common methodologies, technical solutions and best practices in coherence with the Development function.

Education

Master/Bachelor degree in Computer/Electronics/Telecommunications/Automation Engineering.

Experience

At least 3 years in development of web applications for both front end (client side) and back end (server side).

Qualifications/Skills

• Creative, flexible and self-motivated.
• Available to quickly and continuously learn.
• Ability to manage time and quality.
• Analyzing information, general programming skills, software design, software debugging, software documentation, software testing, problem solving.
• Strong team working attitude in international environment.
• Software development fundamentals, software development process, software requirements.

Knowledge

• UI and UX design; strong background in web application development.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (preferred Angular) and back-end frameworks (preferred Spring Boot and NodeJs).
• HTML5, CSS, JavaScript; server-side languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#/.NET).
• Advanced techniques for unit and integration testing, continuous integration.
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Familiar with micro-service pattern (preferred Docker) and Linux.

Language

English: upper intermediate level required.

Additional Information

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time. Location: Hitachi Rail STS Napoli.
