Job summary

ABB Motion in Italy is seeking a technically skilled Application Engineer to support the Sales team and customers from initial contact through commissioning. You’ll adapt ABB drives and motor solutions to customer needs, conduct on-site commissioning, and help prepare technical proposals.

You will collaborate with product management and sales colleagues across Europe, travel to customer sites and ABB factories as required, and translate complex requirements into practical, reliable system

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Automation or Electrical)
• Minimum of 2 years in the automation sector
• Experience with AC drives and motor systems; PLC knowledge is a plus; Codesys preferred
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and ABB factories

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site commissioning activities for Drives at customer locations
• Develop and implement customized solutions, product packages, and software applications
• Understand customer needs and demonstrate how ABB solutions address their requirements
• Coordinate product demonstrations and technical presentations
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals and assist in contract negotiations
• Provide technical support to customers and collaborate with internal teams to ensure project execution
