Workplace Description

The Digital Health & Wellbeing Center is one of the Centers of the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK). The activities of the Center for Digital Health & Wellbeing mainly concern scientific research of excellence in the field of Computer Science and AI techniques and methodologies for health and healthcare, as well as social and technological innovation for a relevant impact on both the local community and nationally and internationally.

The position is opened by the DHILab – Digital Health Innovation Laboratory research unit of the Digital Health & Wellbeing Center. The DHILab is a research and innovation unit focused on the design, development, deployment, and operation of innovative digital solutions in the field of digital health. The laboratory supports research activities by providing expertise in user experience design, human‑computer interaction, and AI‑based software components, as well as in building and managing infrastructures that meet key requirements for digital health and trustworthy AI, including privacy‑compliant data governance and technical robustness and safety. The DHILab collaborates closely with the other research units of the Center. More information is available at https://dhilab.fbk.eu/.

Job Description

FBK is looking for a UX Designer with experience in the healthcare domain, with a strong background in Human–Computer Interaction, to design user‑centered digital products across web and mobile platforms. The candidate will participate in all phases of the UX design process, from concept development to wireframing, interactive prototyping, testing, and implementation, collaborating within multidisciplinary teams including software analysts, designers, developers, and domain experts.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Conducting user research, interviews, and usability testing to identify needs and insights.
  • Translating research findings into information architecture, user flows, and interaction patterns.
  • Designing wireframes, mockups, and high‑fid­ality interactive prototypes using Figma.
  • Collaborating closely with developers and researchers to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
  • Developing and maintaining design systems to ensure visual and functional consistency.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of usability and accessibility of existing products and services.
  • Supporting workshops, co‑design sessions, and stakeholder presentations.

The candidate will also collaborate with national and international partners involved in clinical studies conducted in real‑world contexts.

Job Requirements
  • MSc Degree in Human–Computer Interaction or related field, or other educational background in Design or Digital Media.
  • At least 1 year of UX design experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Proficiency with Figma and other design tools.
  • Knowledge of user‑centered design methodologies, co‑design workshops, and paper prototyping.
  • Focus on accessible and inclusive design.
  • Understanding of front‑end development principles and practical experience with CSS.
  • Strong analytical thinking combined with visual creativity, able to translate complex workflows into intuitive and meaningful experiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and research‑oriented teams.
  • Good communication and relation skills.
  • Oral and written proficiency in Italian and English.
Employment

Type of contract: fixed‑term contract

Working hours: full‑time (38 hours per week)

Start date: January 2026

Duration: 12 months

Gross annual salary: € 38.539,67, plus objective‑achievements bonus
