Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Responsible to:

• Warehouse Manager
• Managing Director and Directors

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all cargo is accounted for and properly looked after in the warehouse.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of freight.
• Supervise warehouse operatives to ensure adherence to correct processes and procedures.

Main Duties:

• Follow all procedures outlined in the Warehouse Procedure Manual.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of all freight.
• Report shortages or damages to the warehouse supervisor or manager, maintaining proper documentation.
• Keep freight safe and secure while in custody.
• Adhere to booking-in procedures, check dimensions, and report back to relevant departments.
• Handle vehicles promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure all personnel in the vicinity wear high-visibility clothing and warehouse staff wear safety footwear during operations.
• Ensure all outbound freight is signed for upon collection.
• Maintain and inspect forklifts and other warehouse equipment, completing daily and weekly checks.
• Report issues politely and respectfully to the supervisor or relevant department.
• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment, disposing of rubbish appropriately.
• Ensure forklifts are charged at the end of each day.

Working Conditions:

• This role involves alternating shifts at the Basildon warehouse, with core hours of 07:00 Monday to Friday. Shifts may include an early shift at 07:30 and a late shift at 11:00, subject to change.
• Standard hours are generally 06:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexibility is required to work outside these hours and on weekends as needed, including rota-based Saturday shifts.
• Total core working hours are 37.5 per week.

Additional Requirements:

• Proof of at least 5 years of full employment history.
• Successful completion of a DBS check.
• Completion of Aviation Security Training (pass required).
