Project Manager (Architectural Background)

London | Hybrid (2 days office / 3 days remote) | £45,000 to £48,000 + bonus + fully funded Retrofit Coordination training

You trained as an architect because you care about how spaces affect people.

You’ve worked on housing projects in London. You know how to coordinate, lead and keep projects moving forward in order to get things built. But lately, you’ve been asking yourself…. "Who are we really building for?"

If you’re no longer fulfilled designing + delivering homes for people you’ll never meet, or polishing schemes for private clients and investors while urgent needs go unmet, this is your chance to work where your impact matters most.

You’ll be delivering retrofit projects that directly improve the lives of real families throughout London, working hand-in-hand with local authorities, housing associations, and communities to create warmer, safer, more affordable homes.

This is your opportunity to move into Project Management without walking away from your architectural strengths.

You’ll still work with drawings, consultants and construction teams… but now you’ll lead from the front, ensuring the right projects happen, for the people who need them most.

Partnering directly with local authorities, housing associations and communities, they deliver energy-efficient refurbishments that improve warmth, air quality, safety, and affordability… reaching the people and places that need it most.

This isn’t a desk-bound role spent tweaking drawings for someone else’s dream home. It’s real-world project delivery with purpose… where your architectural expertise directly improves lives.

With just 2 days in the office per week, you’ll split your time between on-site coordination and remote work, staying close to the action and the people you're helping.

You’ll start by leading real retrofit and refurbishment projects… while being enrolled in a fully funded 12 to 13 week Retrofit Coordination training course.

Complete it successfully and you’ll receive a formal salary uplift to match your growing value to the team.

Already Retrofit Coordination certified? Great…. A higher starting salary is likely waiting for you!

The Role…

As mentioned, you’ll be delivering retrofit and refurbishment projects that change lives and improve neighbourhoods.

Your architectural background will help you translate complex design, technical, and performance standards into action… while managing risk, funding, stakeholders, and delivery outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to…

• Lead housing retrofit projects from feasibility through delivery
• Coordinate teams across design, sustainability, engagement, and construction
• Communicate confidently with clients, tenants, and consultants
• Keep projects aligned, on track and full of momentum

Who You Are…

• ARB or RIBA-qualified Architect (with at least 2 to 5 years of proven UK based industry experience)
• Experience delivering significant packages or projects within the residential sector, ideally in London
• Comfortable managing consultants, solving problems, and making decisions
• Curious about sustainability, retrofit and the future of housing
• Looking to build a more dynamic, strategic career …with impact at its core

Training That Equips You to Lead…

You won’t be thrown into the deep end.

Whether you're already familiar with retrofit standards or just getting started, you’ll receive structured, hands-on training that sets you up for long-term success.

Within 6 to 12 months, you will be able to…

• Understand and apply key frameworks like PAS2035, TrustMark, SAP/EPC ratings
• Contribute to strategic funding bids (e.g. SHDF, HUG) that unlock major programmes
• Navigate the intersection of design, delivery and compliance with clarity and confidence
