We pride ourselves in being a great place to work, providing a supportive culture with opportunities to grow and develop your career, achieve a healthy work life balance and to be recognised for the great work you do. You will receive:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of over 1,400 employees and over 28,000 volunteers, united by our goal of saving lives through essential first aid services, training and campaigning. As a charity with rich heritage and a long history of serving humanity, we are proud of our past and excited about creating a healthier, safer, more resilient future.
St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, and Young Responders programmes).
The PR & Communications Manager (B2B) will lead the planning and delivery of proactive PR and communications activity that strengthens awareness and reputation of St John Ambulance’s workplace training and first aid supplies. This role plays a key part in driving brand visibility, credibility and demand among business audiences through effective storytelling, media engagement and campaign support.
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, you will work closely with colleagues in Trade & Campaigns, CRM and eCommerce to ensure PR activity is aligned with commercial priorities and the wider trade and campaigns plan. From crafting media stories and press releases to managing agency partners and identifying opportunities for new course and product launches, you’ll help ensure St John Ambulance’s voice is heard across key sectors and industry media.
While focused on driving St John Ambulance’s commercial growth, the role also supports our wider charitable mission of putting the power of first aid in everyone’s hands.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field, demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development (eg. attending workshops, gaining short-course certificates, or maintaining professional body CPD requirements), a proven experience delivering PR and communications activity for a brand, organisation, agency or equivalent and demonstrable experience planning and executing PR campaigns that support commercial, brand or marketing objectives.
