We are delighted to be helping this successful business recruit a Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper. As part of the European team this is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with strong accounts experience who can demonstrate excellent attention to detail as well as confidence managing accounts to trial balance.
As the new member of the team, you’ll report to the Head of Operations and play a key role in supporting broader international operations, which include events, exhibitions, and media sales. This is a varied role with the flexibility to work part-time hours and the potential for hybrid working after the initial onboarding.
The job
Generate quotes and invoices multi-currency quotes for conferences, exhibitions, and media sales
Process online credit card payments and allocate receipts across multiple currencies using daily exchange rates
Create accurate international invoices, including VAT and EU reverse charges
Manage transactions related to sponsorships, exhibitions, speaker reimbursements, and ad sales
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in compliance with UK and EU regulations
Post transactions into the finance system and maintain general ledger accuracy
Reconcile bank statements, processing purchase invoices, and managing payment batches
Keep organised, compliant financial records and support improvements to CRM templates and reporting
The person specification
Proven experience in accounting/bookkeeping, ideally in a multi-currency, international environment.
Strong knowledge of VAT rules, including EU reverse charges.
Proficiency in using financial systems (e.g. Agresso) and Excel.
Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to manage manual data entry.
Experience processing card payments, reconciling bank statements, and handling exchange rate conversions.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Salary & benefits
This role is offered on a self-employed basis, and the rate is c£32 p/hr – please note the employer will issue a contract directly following the offer of employment
The role is part-time and offers a flexible working pattern, there is a requirement to work from the office in East Cardiff on average two days a week.
