A leading European IP firm in London seeks a part-qualified to newly qualified Patent Attorney to support clients in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors. The role involves high-value work including EPO oppositions and appeals. Candidates should have a chemistry background and strong communication skills. Part-Qualified to Newly Qualified Patent Attorney (Chemistry)
An opportunity has arisen for a talented part-qualified or qualified Patent Attorney to join a leading European IP firm’s chemistry practice, supporting global clients in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.
You’ll work on high-value, commercially focused work, including contentious matters, EPO oppositions and appeals, and SPCs. The role offers exposure to a diverse mix of technologies—ranging from organic synthesis and drug delivery to catalysts, batteries, polymers, and cleantech.
- Part-qualified or qualified UK/EQEs (up to ~2 years PQE)
- Background in chemistry, ideally organic or pharmaceutical
- Experience with EPO procedures and contentious work (a plus)
- Strong communication, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills
