Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper
Job summary
A family-owned SME in Dukinfield is seeking an Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure timely payments. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role within the construction sector, knowledge of CIS, and proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 with additional benefits including 33 days holiday and study support.

The key responsibilities of an Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper will be:
- Record, process, and reconcile supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of supplier accounts
- Create and issue customer invoices in line with agreed terms
- Manage CIS returns and maintain accurate associated records
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC requirements
- Carry out daily banking and bank reconciliations
- Oversee general bookkeeping and maintain organised financial records
- Provide financial support and insight to the company director and site teams
- Assist with payroll preparation and processing as required
- Proven experience in a similar accounts role within the construction sector
- Comfortable working in an SME business
- Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Knowledge of CIS is essential
- Experience with payroll is desirable, but not essential
- Competitive salary £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
- Full-time, office-based role (40 hours per week, 8:00am - 4:30pm) with flexibility on hours
