Job summary
A community service organization in the United Kingdom is seeking Hospitality Assistants to provide a welcoming food and drink service in a café for residents and customers. Key responsibilities include creating a friendly atmosphere, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. Essential qualifications include knowledge of food hygiene practices and health and safety principles, while barista training and experience in a café or restaurant are desirable.

- Create a welcoming environment for residents and customers.
- Provide café/barista service in the village restaurants.
- Serve customers using the EPOS system.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene after food service.
- Safely close down the kitchen at the end of the day.
Skills
Education
The Hospitality Assistants work closely with the Head Chef (Village) and Chef (Village) to provide a food and drink service in a welcoming, clean environment for our residents / customers in our village cafe.
- Creates a welcoming environment for residents and customers in our village restaurants with a focus on customer service and providing a wide variety of food and drinks. Builds a rapport with residents.
- Provides a café / barista service in the village restaurants.
- Serves customers using the EPOS.
- Responsible for day-to-day cleanliness, hygiene and washing up after a food service.
- Safely closes down the kitchen at the end of the day in line with protocols in preparation for the next day. Removes waste.
- Knowledge and experience of good food hygiene practices
- Knowledge of health and safety principles
- Good standard of general education
- Barista trained
- Food hygiene qualification level 2
- Diploma (or NVQ) level 1 Catering / Food Service or equivalent
- Experience working in a busy café / restaurant environment
- Experience of working with older people
