Job summary
A leading Australian university is seeking a Senior Research Fellow for the OceanOmics Centre in Crawley, WA. The role involves leading research projects in marine genomics, optimizing genomic tools, and collaborating with a diverse team to advance ocean conservation. The successful candidate will require a PhD in a relevant field, experience in marine fieldwork, and a strong background in molecular biology. This position offers a full-time fixed-term appointment with a competitive salary and opportunities for international collaboration.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in marine biology and a PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in designing and leading research projects focused on genomic tools.
- Experience in planning and conducting marine fieldwork and data recording.
- Advanced understanding of molecular biology and NGS workflows.
- Experience in deriving insights from large genomic datasets.
Responsibilities
- Lead research projects in marine genomics and whole genome sequencing.
