A charity focused on women's support is seeking a skilled Family Prevention Practitioner to join their counselling team. The role involves providing family intervention to children and young people from a trauma-informed perspective. Candidates should have qualifications in therapy and relevant experience in safeguarding practices, with an emphasis on supporting women and girls. This is a part-time permanent position, with a focus on creating a safe and reassuring environment for service users.
RCSL is committed to creating and maintaining a safe, respectful, and trauma‑informed environment for all survivors who use our services. We recognise our responsibility to protect adults and young people at risk from harm, abuse, and exploitation, and understand that safer recruitment is vital to safeguarding. We welcome candidates particularly with experience addressing issues affecting women and girls.
All members of our team are expected to share our commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and trauma‑informed environment. Any information disclosed during the recruitment process will be treated confidentially and in line with our safeguarding policies.
Rape Crisis South London is looking for a skilled, passionate Family Prevention Practitioner to join a growing children and young people’s counselling team. The successful candidate must be a qualified therapist with significant experience providing family intervention work from a trauma‑informed environment.
RCSL is an equal‑opportunity employer and particularly keen to receive applications from women under‑represented in leadership roles within the violence‑against‑women and girls movement. The post is offered on a permanent (subject to funding) part‑time basis with 3 days in the office. The position is open to female applicants only as being female is deemed a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a one‑stage interview process: a formal interview with the Clinical Lead via MS Teams. Interview questions will explore experience and approach to safeguarding, EDI, wellbeing, feminism, role‑specific responsibilities, and trauma‑informed practice. For management positions, people‑leadership skills will also be discussed.
All roles within the organisation involve working with vulnerable adults and may involve contact with young people. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced or Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, including checks of relevant barred lists.
