Youth Worker - Cover Supervisor

Opportunities in Bristol Secondary Schools (120-130/day)

Are you passionate about education, behaviour support, and helping students reach their full potential?

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for enthusiastic and resilient Youth Workers to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Bristol. This exciting role is ideal for individuals with experience in youth work, mentoring, coaching, or education, who are confident managing groups of students and supporting learning across a range of subjects.

You'll be stepping into classrooms to deliver pre-set lessons, maintain engagement and behaviour, and provide a positive, structured environment where students can thrive. You'll also build relationships with young people, supporting their emotional wellbeing and helping them stay motivated and focused throughout the school day.

Key Information:
  • Roles available immediately and ongoing throughout the academic year
  • Working hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (approx. 37 hours per week)
  • Pay rate: 120 - 130 per day, depending on experience
  • Opportunities for long-term and permanent school-based positions
We are looking for people who:
  • Have experience working with young people aged 11-16 in youth, community, or school settings
  • Are confident managing a classroom and engaging students positively
  • Can lead pre-planned lessons and maintain a calm, structured learning environment
  • Are patient, proactive, and able to build strong relationships with students and staff
  • Have strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people's education and wellbeing
  • Can adapt quickly and think on their feet in a busy school environment
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience supporting or leading groups of young people (youth work, education, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.)
  • A confident, professional manner with strong behaviour management skills
  • An enhanced DBS Disclosure (or willingness to apply with our support)
  • Two recent professional references
  • The legal right to work in the UK
