Job summary

Qualifications

  • Relevant coaching/mentoring/IAG qualification required.
  • Proven experience of supporting young people to develop confidence and new skills.
  • Experience of providing life skills linking to employment support services.
  • Understanding of employment needs for those with mental health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in building confidence and skills for employment.
  • Deliver tailored support such as interview coaching.
  • Maintain mentoring and coaching with apprentices and host employers.
  • Manage a caseload with clear objectives.
  • Work with a National Careers Service advisor on CVs and job searches.
  • Advertise the service using social media and events.

Skills

Relevant coaching/mentoring/IAG qualification
Supporting young people to develop confidence
Experience providing life skills linked to employment
Understanding needs of individuals with mental health issues
Experience with young people lacking job experience
Comprehensive assessment of individual needs
Facilitate group training sessions
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Organisational ability to handle multiple priorities
