1:1 Support Assistant - Primary School (LE7, Leicester)

Daily Rate: £100 per day

Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Start: Immediate

Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a Year 2 student at a welcoming primary school in LE7, Leicester. This is a crucial role supporting a child who requires additional guidance with behaviour management and is prone to extreme physical behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide focused 1:1 support to a Year 2 student throughout the school day
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in a calm, consistent manner
  • Support the child's learning and social development
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Maintain detailed records of progress and incidents
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child and other pupils
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working with children with behavioural challenges - this is essential
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, resilience and a positive attitude
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures
  • Right to work in the UK
Highly Desirable
  • Experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or similar setting
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare
  • Training in behaviour management techniques
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
