Job description

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative/Forklift Driver to join our well established client based in Godalming, this is a 12 week temp to perm opportunity for the right person.

MUST drive to due to location of site.

Industry: Construction

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30am to 5:30pm

Pay:

• £12.98 per hour (£27,000pa)
• After 12 weeks you'll move onto a permanent contract. Once permanent, you'll also be added to the monthly bonus scheme, earning an extra £200 each month meaning your salary will rise to £29,400pa.

Responsibilities of the Yard Operative/Forklift Driver:

• Safely loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift (counterbalance).
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Assisting customers and drivers in the yard.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Carrying out regular stock checks and reporting discrepancies.
• Supporting general warehouse and yard operations as needed.

Requirements of the Yard Operative/Forklift Driver:

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or builder's merchant environment (preferred).
• Valid counterbalance forklift licence
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Comfortable with manual handling.
• Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail.
