Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Workshop / Engineering Assistant located in Castleton, England. Workshop / Engineering Assistant

📍 Location: Rochdale
⏰ Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4:30pm / Friday 8am - 3:30pm
💰 Pay: £12.21
📄 Contract: Temp ongoing

Are you practical, hands‑on, and keen to work in a busy and friendly workshop environment? We're looking for a Workshop / Engineering Assistant to support our engineering and production team with a range of tasks involving tools, machinery, and general workshop duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the use of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, and other workshop equipment
  • Preparing and cutting materials to specification
  • General assembly and support on engineering projects
  • Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised
  • Helping with loading, unloading, and moving materials
  • Supporting qualified engineers with day‑to‑day tasks
Requirements
  • Basic experience using tools such as drills and saws (training can be provided)
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
