Overview

Workshop Engineer required for a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor. This is a great opportunity for a plant engineer or someone with experience working on vehicles looking to take a step up into construction plant. The company offers great training opportunities whilst offering a days‑based role.

You will be mechanically biased and hold an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent / above) in a related mechanical subject. You will ideally have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics. This role would suit candidates from backgrounds working with plant, HGVs, motor mechanics (car/van), small tools (including garden machinery) or similar.

You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance on all plant machinery including vehicles and equipment from larger excavators to small plant, tools and generators.

Working within a team of eight, you will spend around 70% of your time in the workshop and 30% field. The company does work nationwide, however field work is predominantly based along the southeast coast.

The company can at times operate on a 24/7 basis and you will occasionally be asked to work overtime including weekends.
