Sandwell College is seeking a proactive and highly organised Work Experience Officer to play a vital role in delivering the College's employability strategy. You will ensure that all learners have access to high-quality work experience, volunteering and enterprise opportunities that support their personal development and prepare them for successful futures. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with curriculum teams, employers, and external partners to create meaningful work experience pathways for students across the College.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and promote the College's work experience strategy
- Ensure all students have access to meaningful work experience opportunities
- Build effective relationships with curriculum staff to support and quality‑assure work placements
- Source work experience, employability and enterprise activities for learners
- Develop external partnerships, including local employers, to enhance available opportunities
- Represent the College in arranging, delivering and evaluating work experience programmes
- Use databases to input, manage and report on work experience data, including statistical monitoring
- Drive continuous improvement across work experience and employability provision
- Support students through the tutorial system with regard to work experience
Qualifications
- Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience working in an educational setting delivering advice, guidance or employability services
- Experience building professional relationships with employers and external organisations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage varied stakeholders
- Strong Excel and Access skills with confidence analysing and interpreting data
- Excellent administrative abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong presentation skills
