Job summary

A manufacturing company in Shefford is seeking a skilled Mould Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair moulds for production. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and fabrication skills, including MIG and TIG welding experience. Qualifications

  • Ideally have experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven MIG and TIG welding skills.
  • Knowledge of using lathes, mills, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Should understand pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using CMMS or mould maintenance software is a plus.
  • Must be physically fit for manual tasks.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • A proactive team player with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • A full UK driving licence is required; Forklift Truck licence preferred.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mould Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair our extensive portfolio of moulds, ensuring they’re ready for production when needed. If you thrive in a hands‑on environment and take pride in precision and reliability, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the role
  • Maintain, repair, and improve moulds to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to minimise downtime and enhance tool reliability.
  • Carry out high-quality maintenance with a focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Working at rotating shift pattern of Monday to Friday 6 : 00am to 2 : 00pm and 8 : 00am to 4 : 00pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

About you

To be successful in this role you ideally have :

  • Background in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • MIG and TIG welding experience.
  • Strong mechanical and fabrication skills, including use of lathes, mills, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Comfortable using digital tools and systems (e.g., CMMS or mould maintenance software).
  • Physically fit with good manual handling awareness (role involves handling heavy tooling).
  • Self‑motivated, independent, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Reliable team player with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (Forklift Truck licence preferred).
