Job summary

A leading UK health organization is seeking a Network Support Officer WiFi to join the Network Team at University Hospital of Wales. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of electronic systems and improve wireless infrastructure. Key responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting network issues while collaborating with the team. Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge of wireless technologies and relevant qualifications. This is a fixed-term position until September 2026.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Cisco Systems Hardware and Wireless products.
  • Experience troubleshooting network faults in large-scale networks.
  • Experience designing and implementing LAN cabling infrastructures.
  • Experience in a hospital IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of ePMA application.
  • Maintain the wireless network for Digital Wi-Fi Improvements.

Skills

Knowledge of scaleable physical infrastructure design
Knowledge of latest copper & wireless networking standards
Knowledge of Wireless technologies, IP and associated protocols
Knowledge with Cisco WLC’s and management tools
Knowledge of Cisco Wireless standards
Working knowledge of Cisco Prime infrastructure
Knowledge of CastleRock SNMPc or equivalent
Knowledge of commonly used application protocols

Education

Degree or equivalent experience
Relevant technical networking qualifications (e.g., BICSI, CCNP)
