As a Receptionist, based at the Wellbeing Centre, Lampeter, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the reception role including dealing with customers, providing information, handling money and ensuring a first class front of house service.

As a council, we are embarking on an exciting journey which will see a number of our Leisure Centres become Wellbeing Centres, with the Wellbeing Centre, Lampeter being the first to open its doors. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to be part of that journey as we contribute to the promotion of positive health and wellbeing of our citizens.

As Receptionist you will be required to assist the manager in the provision of an efficient and effective service and on a day-to-day basis will:

  • Handle customers and respond to enquiries, complaints and questions
  • Receive bookings and process facility hire enquiries
  • Handle money and process transactions using the LA’s systems
  • Provide administrative support to other staff members
  • Responsible for ensuring all user information on the system is correct and up-to-date
  • Lead on the marketing programme for the department

We are committed to providing a bilingual service to our customers so we require individuals with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. Due to our opening hours, you will be required to work evenings and weekends as part of a shift pattern.

We are committed to developing our people and will not only provide support to enable you to quickly and confidently take ownership of this role’s key areas of responsibility but in addition, we are committed to supporting your development in order that you can progress your career with us.

In exchange for your skills and commitment, we will offer you a range of employee benefits including a competitive annual leave allowance and a generous pension contribution scheme. More information about our wide-range of employee benefits can be found here.

Note: We reserve the right to extend the application closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk. This role will require an Enhanced DBS check. Please note that the presence of previous convictions will not necessarily disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position. We assess each applicant on a case-by-case basis, and take into account the nature and relevance of any convictions in relation to the responsibilities of the role. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive work environment where all individuals are treated fairly and with respect.
