  • Advise on welding techniques during project bid stages and serve as point of contact for welding-related issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers, QA/QC, and production teams to ensure smooth, coordinated operations.
  • Maintain welding/fabrication data in ERP systems, generate process plans, weld maps, and conduct production look‑aheads.
Improvements:
  • Continuously review welding methods, processes, and documentation to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and standardize best practices.
  • Promote a “right first time – on time” culture across the welding team.
  • Support the development of welding personnel through mentoring, training, and audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process and fabrication improvements, implementing changes to enhance productivity and quality.
Essential:
  • Time-served Welder with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Completion of an Apprenticeship. NC/HNC/HND in Fabrication/Welding.

  • Experience with TIG, MIG/MAG welding processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, methodical and organised approach, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Desirable:
  • Experience with mechanised/automatic welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and computer-aided process planning.
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA, DEF STAN, ISO, and ASME standards.
  • International/European Welding Specialist or Technologist qualifications (or working towards).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, respond to changing demands, and proactively solve problems.
