Qualifications

• Experienced Welders must carry out MIG/MAG, TIG and Manual Metal Arc welding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and modifications on rail rolling stock.
• Cut out corroded and cracked component parts and weld them back.
• Ensure safety of components before they return to service.

Company Overview

Our client is a provider of engineering services to a range of industry sectors including manufacturing and rail. This includes welding and Inspection.

Position Summary

Due to an increase in workload they are currently looking for an experienced Welder to be based in Crewe.

The work will include carrying out repairs and modifications on a range of items including rail rolling stock. In particular this welding role will involve cutting out corroded and cracked component parts and welding them again, ensuring they are safe to go back in to service.

Qualifications

Applicants must be experienced Welders with the ability to carry out MIG/MAG, TIG and Manual Metal Arc (Stick) or at least a combination of the above. A current coding would also be desirable. Previous experience of working with heavier gauge Mild Steel and using tools such as air gauges, drills and grinders is also essential for this Welder role. Previous experience of working on rail rolling stock would be useful.
