Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Welder Fabricator to join a well-established organisation operating within the engineering and manufacturing sector. This role offers the chance to work on varied fabrication projects using a range of welding techniques and materials.

As a Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for producing components from engineering drawings, carrying out MIG and TIG welding, and ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards. Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines are essential.

The Welder Fabricator role is ideal for someone with a strong background in metal fabrication, welding heavy steel, and interpreting technical drawings, who enjoys working hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment.

Duties
  • Operating Welding Equipment: Carrying out MIG, TIG and arc welding to join metal components.
  • Reading Engineering Drawings: Interpreting blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Fabrication Work: Fabricating, assembling and repairing metal components and structures.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspecting completed welds to ensure structural integrity and quality standards.
  • Material Preparation: Using hand tools and grinding equipment to prepare materials for welding.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Carrying out routine maintenance and checks on welding equipment.
Candidate Requirements
  • Engineering Drawings: Proven ability to read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings.
  • Welding Techniques: Experience with MIG and TIG welding processes.
  • Fabrication Equipment: Ability to operate welding and fabrication machinery safely.
  • Hand Tools: Confident use of hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when working to specifications and deadlines.
  • Heavy Steel Fabrication: Experience working with heavy steels up to 40mm (Desirable).
