Job Description

Our client is a well-respected water treatment company who offer outstanding water treatment services to a varied client base. They are now recruiting for a versatile and committed Water Treatment Engineer based in and around the Bolton area. The successful applicant will have hands on experience delivering water treatment duties to a mixed portfolio of sites/contracts. Experience working with cooling towers and closed systems is desirable. Consideration will be given to applications from Bury, Rochdale, Wigan, Leigh and the surrounding areas.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
  • Good chemical, technical and water hygiene/water treatment background.
  • Vast and varied experience working within this role and within the water treatment/water hygiene industry.
  • Valid and varied experience on cooling towers, water softeners, sampling, dosing, test kits, commissioning and chlorine dioxide systems.
  • Fully conversant with the water treatment industry and legislation.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good client‑facing and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Chemical Analysis on Cooling Towers and Closed, Cooling, Commissioning and Chlorine Systems.
  • Working on prestigious sites/buildings – on‑site analysis and maintenance including:
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold‑water systems, boilers and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling.
  • Under‑taking in‑depth analysis of water systems, including closed systems and interpreting results.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on all dosing equipment as and when required.
  • Completing worksheets for work carried out appropriately.
  • Building and maintaining a good working rapport with clients.
Attributes:
  • Good work ethic and ability to carry out work effectively and within the given time scale.
  • Prepared to travel to areas designated by the client and work within confined space and heights.
